It is the buzz right now, but you must go to You Tube and see the video on Susan Boyle the woman from England that stole everyone's heart on the British version of American Idol. This 47 year old woman walked on the stage and the audience and judges thought she was a joke. She appeared to have no stage presence or previous experience/
The story changes the minute she sang her first note and held everyone spell bound as she sang a difficult song from "Les Mis". She proved that looks have very little to do with talent. She is going onto the next level. Susan redefines that phrase "never give up."
So it is true in real estate. The house we think will be impossible to sell, the difficult buyer who demands too much, and our tired minds and bodies from this frustrating market, all have us wanting to run and hide. Oh thee of little faith. Susan who sang in her church choir in a small, rural community must have felt the same way. Yet, she was given the opportunity to get on stage and prove not only to that audience but to the world that she has a voice.
I stand stronger today knowing I have a voice that will be heard whether it's in asking for a price reduction or changes to the property condition, a more understanding buyer, or the strength to get in the car and make one more call. We cannot let the past defeat us but let the future challenge us to become winners.
